Industrial plants are heavy users of energy from the heating, cooling and the lighting for the property, to the production equipment to manufacture their products. Boilers, chillers, machinery and compressors are just a few of the high costs systems of energy in a plant.

Therefore, it makes sense to look at the costs and potential for reductions in buying and using the utilities in a plant. The plant can be broken down into two areas. One is the building itself and the other is the production facility. The production area can be broken down even further by looking at each department as an individual cost center.

BMI Energy looks at the utility bills and can conduct energy audits on all of these areas. HVAC and lighting are big energy users, but is only the beginning to lowering energy costs. Production equipment can sometimes be scheduled to be off when not in use or used when the energy rates are lower. Utility companies offer lower rates during off peak hours, so it makes sense to use high energy equipment at those times, if possible.

What type of manufacturing do you have? How many buildings? Are you looking to reduce your energy costs? BMI can look at one area or the whole company and tell you what can be done.
