Energy Audits
Energy Audits are used to identify how and where the energy is used in a building. This is necessary in order to find out if the building is energy efficient.
A preliminary look at buildings can be done with a Utility Bill Analysis and other information. This analysis, along with information like the building’s square footage and business type, can help to show us how efficient a building is as compared to Energy Star ratings or by comparing multiple same type locations. BMI may recommend a site survey and energy audit to look at the way the building is using and perhaps wasting energy.
An Energy Audit is a look at the total building and everything that uses energy. An Energy Audit Report would be written and provided, to allow for identifying what can be done to make the building become more energy efficient. The data would allow BMI to recommend changes in how the energy is managed and controlled or look at energy projects, with an ROI analysis.
Energy related projects could be identified for lowering the energy consumption, reducing the company’s carbon footprint for meeting “Green” objectives and lowering maintenance costs. The data developed could be used for future decision making and budgeting.
